Project Connect
Whether it’s enjoying our drinks around a table or a campfire, Georgian Bay Spirit Co. is all about connection.
Our philosophy is that the more connected we are to the world around us, the more connected we become with one another, and ultimately ourselves. For this reason, Project Connect focuses on two core areas – minimizing our impact on the planet and supporting organizations that bring people closer to one another and our natural world.
Planet - Toward net Zero
As a packaged goods company, we recognize the impact we have on our planet, from the energy used to manufacture our products, to shipping them across North America. For this reason, we have set ourselves the goal of becoming a Net Zero company. To get there, we are working with Radicle Climate Smart to quantify our carbon footprint and identify reduction opportunities. For example, this year, by working to increase operational efficiencies, we will reduce the number of tankers leaving our distillery by approx. 40%, despite increased production volume. Because we can’t control all aspects of production and distribution, in 2024 we plan to purchase carbon offsets to help get us the final way in our journey to net zero.
As a Platinum Sponsor of the Georgian Bay Land Trust, we are also helping to protect and preserve the incredible, yet fragile biosphere that is our namesake.
People - Connecting With Nature
Time in nature isn’t just good for the human spirit, it can also improve health, foster learning, and promote conservation. In 2023, we will be supporting ParkBus’ NatureLink program by funding trips for new Canadians and refugees to parks and other wilderness areas across Canada. These trips offer individuals who don’t have easy access to nature an opportunity to gain experience and confidence, as well as a lasting appreciation of the great outdoors.
Connection For All
Georgian Bay Spirit Co. welcomes everyone. We support equity, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do and are a proud, Silver Sponsor of Drinkclusion, which promotes diversity and inclusion in the beverage alcohol industry.
Georgian Bay Land Trust
A not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization committed to protecting and preserving the lands of Georgian Bay, the world’s largest freshwater archipelago, for future generations to enjoy.
Parkbus
Parkbus’ NatureLink provides subsidized transportation to outdoor spaces and outdoor programming for newcomer Canadians. We work with NatureLink to provide bus trips to parks across Canada for new Canadians and refugees.
Drinkclusion
Drinkclusion was formed by Drinks Ontario in 2020, with support from Vinequity and LCBO, to focus on increasing diversity, equality, and inclusion in our industry.
